"Kapital No" sends a strong message about staying strong and winning. Can you tell us about a time in your life that inspired the lyrics and the idea of being a 'winnerman'?

Well, it happened when I noticed almost everyone around me wanted to forget about me. The inspiration to be a 'winnerman' has always been in my blood. The ideas for the lyrics came from my life experiences, confirming that I am naturally a winner in my musical journey.

The song talks about believing in winning. How do you think this positive message can connect with your listeners and encourage them in their own journeys?

The positive message of winning is a universal theme. I've received messages from listeners sharing how a specific line in one of my songs motivated them during a tough time. Knowing that my music resonates with their struggles and encourages them on their journey is immensely fulfilling.

Your lyrics mention facing challenges. How do you use your experiences to connect with listeners and inspire them to overcome obstacles?

Honestly, I've faced a lot in my life and career. Despite the challenges, I always come out on top, and that's why I share the realities of my victories through my songs. I want my listeners to secure their own wins by practicing and believing in themselves.

The term 'Kapital No' is distinctive. What does it mean to you, and why did it become the song's title?

 'Kapital No' is different from my other song titles. I use it to tell doubters that I'm always real and not afraid to be different. It's my way of expressing my inner voice to those who never believed in or expected good things from me.

Besides 'Kapital No,' do you have other favourite songs in your collection? What makes them special for you?

Yes, I do. All the songs in my collection are special because the lyrics speak about real experiences. Each song carries a distinctive emotional weight, making them not just music but a mirror to the moments, joys, and challenges of life that resonate deeply with me.

Your music combines powerful messages with catchy beats. How do you balance creating music that is both meaningful and enjoyable for your audience?

It comes naturally to me. I enjoy the applause from my audience when they cheer for me. Creating songs that are enjoyable and meaningful is what I love spending my time and energy on because it reflects my reality.

If you could collaborate with any artist, living or passed, who would be your dream collaboration, and what kind of song would you create together?

The industry is vast with great artists, 2baba and Burna Boy have been major influences in my musical journey. If I had the opportunity to collaborate, I envision an energetic anthem that captures the essence of our collective experiences. The song would embody inspiration, motivation, and the true realities of life.

Outside of music, what are some of your passions or interests that fans might not know about?

Apart from music, a hidden passion of mine is creating designs, especially in the realm of fashion. I find joy in sewing and experimenting with different styles. It's a creative outlet that brings a different kind of satisfaction.

The music industry is always changing. How do you see your sound evolving, and are there any new genres or styles you're excited to explore in the future?

Every day brings change, and I'll always work on my sound to reflect the joy and happiness of my listeners. I'll stay true to positive vibes and never change negatively.

Originally a humble blog, Goodwall has grown to connect over 2 million young people across 150 countries. Can you share your background and what inspired you to co-found Goodwall?

Omar: Taha and I were raised in a humanitarian family. Our father dedicated over 30 years to the UNHCR, and our mother was the first female employee at The Global Fund to fight HIV/AIDS, TB, and Malaria. This upbringing instilled in us a deep desire to make a meaningful impact.

We spent our summers in refugee camps, and I remember giving out candy to kids who had lost everything in the horrors of war. Realizing the stark contrast in opportunities between us and these resilient young children was one of the experiences that motivated us to create positive change.

Years later, during the rise of social networking, Taha and I recognized its potential for global impact. We decided to explore how technology could bridge gaps and connect people on an unprecedented scale. Inspired by our experiences, we founded Goodwall as a platform to empower youth and break down barriers.

What is the core mission and vision of Goodwall, and how has it evolved since its inception?

Taha: The roots of Goodwall trace back to End Ignorance, a blog Omar created in 2012 to shed light on global crises. From that seed, we expanded the concept into a social network, launching it as a website before developing it as a mobile-first platform.

Our core mission is to level the playing field for youth worldwide. Goodwall has grown to support over 2 million young people in more than 150 countries, and we are dedicated to helping them build skills and connect to learning and earning opportunities. We've forged partnerships with leading corporations, organizations like the UN, and governments to develop programs to upskill and mobilize youth to take action in areas like sustainability, education, and health.

From a humble blog, Goodwall has evolved into a platform that empowers youth globally, and we're excited about the positive impact it continues to make.

Goodwall has made a significant impact on youth empowerment. Could you share some inspiring stories or examples of how it has positively influenced the lives of young individuals?

Omar: Impact, for Goodwall, is more than a number. Lives have been changed. One example is Dana, a girl from the Middle East who joined the platform in her teens and found a supportive STEM community on Goodwall. This motivated her to participate in Intel ISEF, the largest international science fair, where she won NASA’s special award. Despite circumstantial and social challenges, her unique profile helped her stand out and she got to study aerospace engineering in the UK, breaking altitude records with her rocket. Today, she works at Rolls Royce, focusing on the future of sustainable aviation, and she has inspired many other Goodwallers to follow in her footsteps and pursue STEM.

Another Goodwaller, Rayyanatu, is a Nigerian girl who participated in a plastic pollution entrepreneurship challenge created by Goodwall and UNICEF. Thanks to the challenge, she started a business recycling plastic bags from the streets of Kaduna into shoes. Her innovative solution not only benefits her local community but also contributes to a cleaner environment. She is inspiring.

You have received recognition as Forbes 30 under 30 honorees. How do you feel about this acknowledgment, and what does it mean for your mission and vision?

Taha: Being recognized as Forbes 30 Under 30 honorees is genuinely humbling for us, and we hope it serves as a reminder to the Goodwall community of the potential and impact young people like them can bring to the world. This kind of acknowledgment reinforces our passion for our mission, encouraging us to keep pushing boundaries to improve the experience of our members.

Every entrepreneurial journey comes with challenges. What are some of the most significant challenges you've faced in building Goodwall, and how did you overcome them?

Omar: Funding was a big one. Convincing people to invest in your dream isn't easy. We had to make a strong case for what Goodwall stood for and find investors who saw its potential and shared our passion for youth development. Then there's building the right team — because it's not only about skills, it's about finding people who believe in the mission as much as you do. But while it may have taken some time, it definitely paid off.

There's also the challenge of getting noticed, especially in the startup chaos. But consistency was key, and eventually, people started recognizing what we were all about. This required connecting with the right people, building relationships, and finding partners who truly believe in Goodwall.

But what really got us to where we are now is the Goodwall team. When things got tough, it was their dedication and shared belief in our mission that turned challenges into opportunities. Every stumble teaches you something, and we learned to turn setbacks into stepping stones. It's all part of the journey!

How do you envision the future of youth development and education, and what role do you see Goodwall playing in shaping that future?

Taha: At Goodwall, we envision a future where every young person, regardless of their background or location, has equal access to opportunities and resources for personal and professional growth. Our vision is rooted in the belief that all youth should be empowered to thrive and contribute to tackling global challenges.

We see Goodwall playing a pivotal role in shaping this future by catalyzing positive change alongside our partners. Our app is designed to empower and connect youth on a global scale, as part of an inclusive community where they can build skills, share experiences, and access opportunities.

By offering a safe space for youth to build confidence, share achievements, and connect with like-minded people, we aim to inspire the next generation to lead with purpose. We believe that breaking down barriers and connecting talented and motivated youth can help shape a promising future.

Are there any innovative features or initiatives within Goodwall that have been particularly successful in supporting young talents on their journey to self-improvement?

Omar: Goodwall's app and online programs are built to integrate learning into the journey of self-improvement. Through our online programs (challenges), youth develop skills and a mindset of lifelong learning. Whether it's mastering technical skills for future career success or refining soft skills for effective communication, Goodwall encourages continual growth.

One standout program was #TransformingEducation, which we launched with UNICEF to hear directly from young Africans about their perceptions of education in their countries. We gathered almost five million responses from over 600,000 young people across 13 African countries, leading to key recommendations for what must be addressed to transform education on the continent.

A different type of program, #Pitch, which promoted youth-led innovation asked participants to pitch their entrepreneurial ideas while showcasing creativity and problem-solving skills. We want to empower young talents to shape the future through impactful entrepreneurship.

A more recent initiative, Green Rising, which we are developing alongside partners like GenU, SAP, and Accenture, aims to support youth in building the skills needed to thrive in the green economy of tomorrow. This is an ongoing program with a variety of different challenges reflecting our forward-looking approach. We aim to prepare young people globally to make a positive impact in areas crucial for our collective future.

Collaboration and partnerships often play a vital role in the success of initiatives like Goodwall. Can you discuss some key collaborations that have contributed to its growth and impact?

Taha: Partnerships have been a game-changer for Goodwall. Take, for instance, our collaboration with SAP on #ClimateLeaders, where the winners got to be the voice of the Goodwall community at COP27, which was pretty amazing. Another impactful program was #GiveItAShot, which we co-created with UNICEF and received funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This one was about mobilizing youth action during the pandemic in vaccine promotion. Our post-program surveys revealed that 98% of participants felt they learned something important about the COVID-19 vaccine, so that's a success.

One of my personal favorites was #Pitch, a program that Omar just mentioned, where we partnered with JA Worldwide to promote youth-led innovation by asking participants to pitch their entrepreneurial ideas. And, of course, there's #ScholarshipNow in collaboration with FastWeb (Monster), where monthly scholarships are handed out to help winning participants reach their goals. We hosted a similar challenge with Nation Media Group in Kenya called #NationScholarship, and we just love to see doors opened for youth through these kinds of opportunities. It's partnerships like these that make Goodwall more than just a platform — it's a community to empower youth in every way we can.

What advice would you offer to aspiring young entrepreneurs who aim to make a positive impact in the realm of youth development and education?

Omar: Firstly, embrace innovation fearlessly. The education landscape is evolving rapidly, and there's plenty of room for creative solutions. Don't be afraid to challenge the status quo and think outside the box.

Secondly, build a strong support network. Surround yourself with mentors, advisors, and fellow changemakers who share your passion. Learning from others' experiences can be invaluable, and a supportive community will provide the encouragement and insights needed to navigate the entrepreneurial journey.

Lastly, be adaptable. The challenges in youth development and education are diverse and dynamic. Stay open to refining your approach based on feedback and evolving circumstances. Adaptability is essential to creating solutions that address the ever-changing needs of young people.

Balancing the demands of your roles as co-founders of Goodwall with your personal lives can be challenging. Could you share some insights into how you successfully manage this balance?

Taha: Finding the right work-life balance can be challenging, but effective communication is key. Omar and I make a conscious effort to maintain transparent and open lines of communication about our schedules, priorities, and any challenges we might be facing.

Setting clear boundaries is another strategy that has proven successful for us. We’ve learned how important it is to reserve time to recharge and stay focused when needed. This includes designated 'tech-free' periods to truly unwind and connect with our personal lives without the constant buzz of notifications.

We've also embraced the concept of delegation. Trusting our team and empowering them to take ownership of certain aspects allows us to maintain a more sustainable workload. It's about recognizing that we can't do everything ourselves and that shared responsibility leads to shared success.

In closing, what are your long-term goals and aspirations for Goodwall, and how do you hope it will continue to impact the lives of young people?

Omar: Our long-term goals for Goodwall are rooted in our commitment to making a meaningful impact on the lives of young people globally. Our primary aspiration is to expand the reach of Goodwall, making it accessible to even more diverse communities around the world, connecting people from various backgrounds, and providing growth opportunities.

Strategic partnerships and collaborations will play a crucial role in our journey. We will continue building meaningful connections with organizations, governments, and corporations to amplify the impact of Goodwall and create innovative programs and initiatives that address the evolving needs of young people and our planet.

Hope Sule, a rising star in the world of gospel music, shares her remarkable journey in this interview. Hope Sule

Can you start by telling us a bit about yourself and how you discovered your passion for gospel music?

My name is Hope Sule, and I come from Ikpeshi in the Akoko Edo local government of Edo state. I have a deep passion for singing and have been pursuing it since a very young age. I was fortunate to be raised in a Christian home, and my parents always found joy in my singing, especially when I sang songs of praise to God. Singing brings me an incredible sense of inner peace and happiness.

What inspired you to pursue a career in gospel music, even without releasing an album yet?

My inspiration, I will say, comes from the fact that without God, we are nothing. Praise and worship are what God cannot give Himself. I often tell people that there are actually three categories of people in the realm of music: Those who are born to sing, those who love singing, and those who are influenced by others.

Because I believe in God's grace for singing, I place myself in the 'born to sing' category. So, I can confidently say that my inspiration comes from the fact that I was born to sing.

Many gospel artists have a defining moment or experience that led them to this genre. Can you share yours?

Yes, it's the story behind my birth. I'm not my mother's first child; two children came before me who unfortunately did not survive. During the period of my conception, my mother made a promise to God. She said that if I were born a male, I would become a pastor. However, if I were born a female, I would sing to God until the end of my days. As fate would have it, I became a great woman. Whenever I hear gospel music, I feel incredibly fulfilled and happy.

How would you describe your unique style and approach to gospel music?

If I were to choose a style that goes with gospel, I'd say I'm all in. I primarily focus on gospel music, and so far, it has been the best decision I've ever made. Anything that brings joy is worth investing in.

Can you tell us about your journey in the music industry so far and the challenges you've faced?

The journey so far hasn't been easy. As an upcoming artist, most people may doubt your ability to meet their expectations. So, when someone recommends you to them, it takes a lot of convincing to gain acceptance. The only challenge I've encountered is learning different dialects to cater to diverse congregations. You can't just excel in Igbo songs and forget that there are Igala-speaking people in our midst. Being versatile is my only challenge, and so far, with God's help, we've been doing well.

Without an album released, what projects or singles have you worked on, and what message do they convey?

I have only worked on one project so far, and I'm still actively working on it. It hasn't been easy because in our country, if you don't know someone who knows someone, it can be quite challenging. The main obstacle holding the project back is finance, but I'm trusting in God for a release soon.

Gospel music often carries powerful messages. What themes or messages do you aim to convey through your music?

Holiness is paramount, especially in the era we live in. Our generation finds itself in a time where sin is prevalent, often with little consideration for the existence of heaven.

Who are your musical influences in the gospel genre, and how have they inspired your work?

I admire great artists like Moses Bliss, Ebuka Songs, and GUC because their songs are filled with the Holy Spirit and convey powerful messages that I love. Mercy Chinwo is another artist I appreciate. People say I look like her and sing like her, and even in my parish, children call me 'Mercy Chinwo.' This made me take a particular interest in her and her songs, and I discovered that she's also a passionate praiser, just like me.

Can you give us a glimpse of your creative process when writing and composing gospel songs?

Life, as a whole, inspires my creativity. This inspiration comes from the challenges I have faced, as well as the challenges people encounter daily, the complexities of marriage and childbearing, the happiness life brings, and the perfect creations of God.

What are your aspirations and goals in gospel music, and when can we expect your debut album?

Greatness, spreading the gospel, and achieving fame are my aspirations and goals. I plan to release my album next year by God's grace.

As both the director of Nursing Services and a dedicated healthcare professional, Regina is a beacon of knowledge and compassion for her community. In a recent interview, she shared valuable insights into the key features of prenatal care and recommendations she provides to ensure healthy pregnancies.

Q: What are the key prenatal care and recommendations you provide to expectant mothers to ensure a healthy pregnancy?

Regina: (With warmth and expertise) Frequent and regular antenatal checkups are essential. Mothers should schedule their first appointment as soon as they miss their period. We encourage regular visits: once a week during the first trimester, every two weeks in the second trimester, and weekly checkups in the third trimester. During these visits, we provide guidance, education, and perform necessary health assessments, including weight checks and prescribed medications. We also offer valuable advice on newborn care.

Q: Can you explain the importance of regular prenatal checkups and how they contribute to the well-being of both mother and the unborn child?

Regina: (Drawing from her wealth of experience) Regular prenatal checkups are vital. They empower mothers to make informed decisions and adopt healthy practices, resulting in a safer pregnancy. When expectant mothers follow our guidance diligently, we have observed fewer complications and maternal health issues. Any care we cannot provide or handle is promptly referred to the Federal Medical Centre, General Hospital, or nearby private hospitals, ensuring that no one is left without proper care. Thankfully, the government's National Health Insurance Program has supported us in caring for 321 mothers, ensuring their well-being.

Q: What are some signs and symptoms that pregnant women should be aware of and report immediately to their healthcare providers?

Regina: (Expressing concern) It's of utmost importance for pregnant women to diligently monitor their health. If you experience symptoms such as fever, a bitter taste in your mouth, or a loss of appetite, it's advisable to take paracetamol once a day. However, if these symptoms persist, it is crucial to seek immediate medical attention. Failure to do so can potentially endanger the well-being of your unborn child.

Additionally, diarrhea can increase the risk of miscarriage, and conditions such as swollen legs or vaginal bleeding may indicate more serious underlying issues. In the event that any of these symptoms manifest, it is imperative to promptly seek medical assistance to ensure the best possible outcome for both you and your baby.

Q: What advice would you offer soon-to-be parents for a smooth transition into parenthood?

Regina: (Nodding thoughtfully) For newly married couples, we emphasize the importance of early action. If a newlywed misses her period, we encourage her to seek immediate care. Additionally, we educate couples about family planning, helping them choose a suitable approach that aligns with their family goals. Maintaining a balanced diet with limited carbohydrates, staying well-hydrated, and incorporating gentle exercise is beneficial. We stress the avoidance of alcohol and unnecessary medications during pregnancy, as they can adversely affect the child. Open dialogue between spouses is encouraged, and we provide vital information on issues like HIV, staphylococcus, and cough.

Q: In conclusion, what is your vision for prenatal care and child protection in your community?

Regina: (With conviction) Our vision is clear: to safeguard the health of unborn children and ensure the well-being of adolescents. We advocate for timely medication and comprehensive prenatal care to protect every child. Through our efforts, we aim to save lives and empower expectant mothers and their families with the knowledge and support they need for a healthy, happy future.

From Newbie to Community Champion: Jeff's Success Story

Starting out as a newbie in the industry, what were some challenges you faced while dealing with queries and emails from users around the world? How did you overcome these challenges?

Actually, before Goodwall, I worked as an email agent in a BPO company. I am an experienced person handling bulk emails daily. Since Goodwall was a start-up company during the time that I started, the main challenge was escalation. There were times when you just needed to work by yourself. There were questions that you were unable to answer straight up. So to overcome that, I worked on my templates and thought of ways on how I may be able to escalate difficult concerns and have the solutions promptly.

It sounds like you had a transformative experience in your role. Can you describe how your approach evolved from the initial messiness to the successful management of the community?

I started as a part-time Community Specialist handling emails and messages from the Goodwallers. After a month, the company decided to hire me as a full-time staff. They've also decided to build a team of Community Moderators which I am managing until today. Normally, you start from being messy since eventually, you will always find ways to improve yourself. With the help of my team, we were able to build a strong engagement with the Goodwallers and make Goodwall a safe space for its members.

After two months, you were invited to join full-time. What qualities or contributions do you believe led to this opportunity, and how did it change your perspective on your career?

I think it is because of my ability to handle pressure and stress. During the time that I started, there was no process at all. You have to deal with everything by yourself. You need to learn fast so that you can cope with your tasks. Having these abilities and time management skills, maybe, that led them to decide to hire me as a full-time employee.

Working as a Community Manager involves connecting with diverse individuals. How did you adapt your communication style to effectively engage with people from various backgrounds?

By effective listening. It is really hard to deal with diverse people since they have their styles of communication however if you listen and observe, you can easily adapt and think about how to respond to each of the individuals. I always end with a positive note or by offering further assistance.

In a startup environment, agility is crucial. Can you share a specific instance where your ability to adapt quickly played a vital role in managing the community and its challenges?

Moderating the Goodwall feed especially the challenge pages and channels are the hardest. You have to quickly decide on everything. Every challenge has its own guidelines to follow. You have to adapt to any changes that sometimes it requires you to do immediately as it might affect the engagement and the challenge participations.

Beyond your professional achievements, what are some of your hobbies or interests that you pursue outside of work? How do these activities contribute to your personal growth?

I've been actively participating in our church activities. I have been a choir member since high school, it is more than 2 decades now I think. I am also a member of the Lectors and Commentators Ministry where we are proclaiming the readings for the daily mass. I am also continuously reading articles and social media posts that might help me in improving what I am doing with Goodwall. I am also planning to enhance my social media and digital tech skills. I am looking for online courses or maybe face to face classes.

As someone who has grown within Goodwall, what advice would you give to aspiring community managers who are just starting their careers in the industry?

Moderation can be a challenging task that requires patience and understanding. It's important not to rush to judgment but instead take the time to comprehend the unique cultures and backgrounds of the community members you're working with, especially in diverse settings. Building this understanding allows for more effective engagement.

Furthermore, a key aspect of successful moderation is a genuine passion for the role and a willingness to assist community members whenever needed. By approaching moderation with a sense of care and dedication, you can foster a positive and supportive environment for everyone involved.

Looking ahead, what are your aspirations within the field of community management? Do you have any long-term goals or projects that you're particularly excited about?

In the field of community management, I aspire to continue developing and implementing strategies that enhance member engagement and satisfaction. In the long term, I'm excited about the prospect of spearheading projects that foster a sense of belonging and active participation within the community. I believe that by consistently working towards these goals, we can create a stronger and more vibrant community that benefits both its members and the organization.

In a role that requires both people skills and organizational abilities, can you share a specific example of how you successfully balanced these two aspects to achieve a positive outcome for the community and the company?

In everything, time management is important. You need to know your priorities. Learn how to say no. You can't do everything. You can try but do not promise that you will deliver it efficiently and accurately.

 Certainly, I'm Román Josue de las Heras Torres, a Senior Data Scientist and passionate advocate for the world of data science and machine learning. My educational background in Systems Engineering and Mathematics naturally guided me into the realm of Data Science. Leveraging this unique blend of expertise, I've been involved in developing cutting-edge machine learning models, addressing forecasting challenges through time series analysis, and harnessing the power of NLP solutions.

 Can you describe your journey from being a mathematics and science teacher to becoming a Senior Data Scientist? How did your teaching experience influence your career in data science?

 My journey from the classroom to the world of data science has been incredibly rewarding. My years as a math and science teacher at a bilingual school in Honduras instilled in me the art of conveying complex concepts in accessible ways to children and teenagers. This experience of simplifying and communicating proved to be a cornerstone in my transition to becoming a Senior Data Scientist. It equipped me with the skill to bridge the gap between intricate data insights and a diverse range of stakeholders.

 During my teaching tenure, I honed my ability to break down challenging topics, making them understandable to students with varying levels of expertise. This skillset seamlessly transitioned to the world of data science, enabling me to effectively communicate complex findings to technical teams, non-technical decision-makers, and clients. It's this unique blend of pedagogical expertise and data science acumen that continues to drive my passion for teaching and creating meaningful data-driven solutions.

 What motivated you to pursue a combination of Systems Engineering and Mathematics in your education, and how has this interdisciplinary background benefited your work in data science?

 The drive to connect theory with practical application led me to pursue Systems Engineering and Mathematics. This interdisciplinary foundation provides me with a unique lens through which to approach data science challenges. It enriches my problem-solving capabilities, allowing me to synthesize diverse insights and develop holistic solutions.

 While taking my last class from the Mathematics area for the Systems Engineering career, I decided to pursue a degree in Mathematics as a simultaneous career as I could not see myself without Math classes at the University. It has been one of the best decisions in my life, and at the end I finished the Math career before Systems Engineering.

 Could you share a specific project where you applied machine learning to solve a challenging problem? What were the key takeaways from that project?

 Certainly. During my time at Sinch, I had the opportunity to fine-tune the main model for a QA search engine named "AskFrank." This engine powered multiple chatbots, showcasing the potential of AI-driven interactions even before the era of ChatGPT. This project underscored the significance of carefully calibrating models to address the nuances of natural language understanding. It highlighted the need for rigorous testing and refining of models to ensure accuracy and effectiveness in delivering valuable responses. The key takeaway was the critical role of continually improving models to create meaningful and valuable interactions with users.

 Data visualization is a crucial aspect of data science. Can you discuss your approach to creating effective data visualizations that convey complex insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders?

 Absolutely, my approach to data visualization is rooted in storytelling techniques. I craft visuals that guide viewers through the data's narrative, ensuring that technical detail and approachability are carefully balanced. This strategy, informed by my experience at Goodwall and Sinch, ensures that the insights resonate with both technical experts and non-technical decision-makers.

 In the field of artificial intelligence, what recent advancements or trends are you particularly excited about, and how do you see them shaping the future of data science?

 The recent advancements in Explainable AI (XAI) and ethical AI practices hold immense promise. These trends align closely with my experience at Sinch, where I specialized in NLP and deep learning. As AI becomes more integral to our lives, these advancements are pivotal for fostering transparency, accountability, and responsible AI development.

 During your time as a laboratory instructor at the mathematics computer center, what valuable lessons did you learn about teaching and mentoring students in the field of mathematics and computer science?

 Being a laboratory instructor allowed me to appreciate the diverse learning styles and paces of students. Patience, clear explanations, and fostering a growth mindset are pivotal when guiding students in the intricate realms of mathematics and computer science. There was a group of students in particular that inspired me. They were not from a technical or mathematical area, since they belonged to the career of social work. Nevertheless, they showed a genuine interest in the class of Statistics and the lab course of the statistical software SPSS from IBM. Their reports were of high quality and they were able to apply what they learned from the class and lab on their graduate thesis. This allowed me to see that the ultimate goal as a Math teacher or lab instructor is to empower students to apply it in their daily life, at their jobs, or personal projects. For them, we must be the bridges between theory and practice.

 Could you provide an example of a situation where you had to use your problem-solving skills to overcome a significant technical challenge in a data science project?

 Certainly. I once encountered a bottleneck in data preprocessing that threatened to impede an entire project. The dataset was so big that fitting a model on a single machine was nearly impossible. I applied matrix compression techniques which I learned at my Mathematics degree to reduce the size of the dataset by more than 95%, enabling the training of the model on my own laptop. Leveraging distributed computing and optimizing algorithms allowed me to overcome this challenge. It was a reminder of the importance of creative problem-solving and the potential of innovative thinking. Nevertheless, applying a relatively old but established technique also made me realize that solutions that work do not need to be novel in order to have a positive impact in a project.

 How do you stay up-to-date with the rapidly evolving tools and techniques in data science and machine learning? Can you recommend any resources or strategies for continuous learning in this field?

 Staying current in the dynamic landscape of data science is paramount. I achieve this through a combination of strategic resources. Engaging with online courses, blogs, and active communities like Kaggle, LinkedIn and GitHub keeps me informed about the latest trends and practices. Notably, I've also contributed my expertise through a course on Ensemble Methods in Python at DataCamp. Additionally, DataCamp serves as a valuable platform for both sharing and enhancing my own knowledge. The collaborative nature of open-source projects and engagement with fellow data scientists further fuels my growth and adaptation in this ever-evolving field.

 What role does ethical consideration play in your work as a data scientist, especially when dealing with sensitive data or developing AI applications? Can you share an experience related to this?

 Ethical considerations are paramount in data science, especially when dealing with sensitive information or developing AI systems. I remember a project where we were handling medical data. Adhering to stringent data protection regulations and ensuring patient privacy were non-negotiable priorities. This experience reinforced the importance of ethical responsibility in all stages of a project.

 Finally, what advice would you give to aspiring data scientists who are looking to build a career similar to yours, combining mathematics, engineering, and data science expertise?
